As Earth orbits the Sun, the radiative angle shifts, creating five distinct energy trends (Five Elements): Sprouting (Wood), Flaring (Fire), Transforming (Earth), Retracting (Metal), and Storing (Water).
These five energy flows are transmitted in the form of waves.
Yang Stems (e.g., Jia Wood): Represent the crest—energy is robust and in an explosive phase.

When the energy of 'Heaven' enters the container of 'Earth,' a chemical reaction occurs. The retained effective resources are known as the Hidden Stems.
Sunlight (Heaven) hits a farm (Earth), and eventually turns into rice. The rice is neither just sunlight nor just soil, but a crystallization of both.

The Human Elements (Hidden Stems) deeply concealed within the Earthly Branches are like trump cards locked in a safe—rarely shown, but capable of playing a decisive role in reversing the situation at critical moments (e.g., when triggered by a Three-Harmony combination).
If Heaven is sunlight and Earth is the farm, the Hidden Stems are the Crops. Only the crops represent the actual resources we can harvest and utilize.
