Hisoka's shadow vanished within the mist over the lake at the mountain peak—the Lake of the Beyond.
A massive torii gate loomed within the dense fog blanketing the water.
It was the torii gate that stood before the Palace on the Water.
Could Hisoka truly be there?
Seeking a way to reach the Palace on the Water, Yuri heads toward the Unveiled Palace.
Location: Antique Cafe Kurosawa
Yuri: 'Hisoka definitely headed to the lake at the summit, and she's on the other side.
A huge torii gate can be seen over the water; there might be something waiting there. Let's go search where Hisoka was.'
Heading to Hisoka's room, she uncovers the document Concerning the Palace on the Water from the bookshelf.
On the floor next to the bed, she collects the document Hisoka's Notebook 4.
As she leaves the room, a school-uniformed girl manifests in Hisoka's mirror, and Hisoka's voice echoes: 'Forgive me.'
Heading downstairs to the corridor next to the shop, she spots a specter in the passage above the doorway leading into the shop: Peeping Shrine Maiden.
Stepping into the shop area, she runs into Miu.
Miu: 'You're... not coming back. You're still wavering, undecided whether to stay or go.'
Ignoring Miu, Yuri departs and heads for the Unveiled Palace.
Location: Unveiled Palace
Yuri: 'Hisoka is inside the Palace on the Water on the far side of the Lake of the Beyond. If the small boat I saw in the Unveiled Palace while rescuing Miu earlier is the Boat of the Beyond, I can use it to reach the palace.'
Entering the Unveiled Palace and reaching the Lantern Room, she is ambushed by the hostile spirit Flame Keeper.
After defeating him, Yuri mutters: 'This mountain... it continues the rituals of the past. If Hisoka is at the Palace on the Water... she must have become a pillar...'
She collects the document Origin of the Unveiled Palace from the floor. Heading upper-right into the Courtyard Corridor, she descends the stairs at the corner to reach the underground boat dock.
Near the small boat, she spots a specter: Bride Standing by Water's Edge.
Yuri: 'Looking ahead, there's a closed water gate. If I can open it, the boat can pass through. There must be a way to open the water gate...'
On the boat, she uncovers the document Water-Carved Diary 4 and the Camellia Key Tag.
Turning back toward the exit, a pale white shadow appears on the opposite staircase. Following it up reveals a locked door requiring both the Cherry and Moon keys to open.
Heading to the Latticed Window Corridor, she first walks left to the end to spot a specter outside the window: Shadow Wandering in Darkness.
Turning right to the other end, she unlocks the door using the Camellia Key Tag to enter the Womb Passage.
Advancing a few steps along the passage, she spots a specter outside the right lattice grate: Shadow in the Depths of the Grate.
Moving forward, the hostile spirit Yomi-Bound ambushes her. Defeating him yields the Lily Key Tag.
Advancing further and opening the door to the Shore Corridor, she spots a specter on the left stairs: Shrine Maiden Gazing at Source.
Continuing forward and opening the door to the Night-Spring Corridor, a specter appears in the right tunnel: Shrine Maiden Beckoning Inside.
Following it deep into the Womb Corridor to the shrine at the end, photographing the base of the statue reveals a hidden box, rewarding her with the Cherry Key Tag and the document Water-Carved Diary 3.
Returning to the Night-Spring Corridor, she continues forward and takes the stairs at the Shore Corridor back to the first floor.
Arriving at the Courtyard Corridor, she unlocks the door to the casket room using the Lily Key Tag, collecting the document The Book of the Open Casket from the floor.
Passing through the opposite door to the Detached Corridor, she walks to the end where the hanging well stands.
Near the well, she collects Upgrade Lens: Zero. Investigating the well reveals a glowing item held by a corpse hanging inside; loosening the rope drops the corpse to the level below.
Walking back to the Womb Passage from earlier, she inspects the newly dropped corpse to obtain the Casket Key.
Heading to the Lantern Room basement, she uses the Casket Key to unlock the casket-shaped mechanism, crawling inside the sealed chamber to recover the Moon Key Tag and the document The Taboo of Psychic Glances.
Ascending the staircase opposite the underground boat dock, she uses the Cherry Key Tag and Moon Key Tag to unlock the door into the Room on the Water.
From the left bookshelf inside the room, she obtains the document The Book of Mountain Rumbles.
Photographing the statue yields a Psychic Vision: Torii Gate on the Water, revealing how to operate the floodgate, and she obtains the document The Book of the Three Pillars.
Returning to the boat dock triggers an ambush by the hostile spirit Paladin Maiden. After defeating her, Yuri photographs the distant water gate to unlock it, then boards the Boat of the Beyond to set sail for the Palace on the Water.
Location: Palace on the Water
Following the path deep into the Main Sanctuary on the Water, she opens the casket to find Hisoka trapped inside.
The moment Yuri's hand touches Hisoka, she reads her resonance, uncovering her inner secrets.
Hisoka: 'Don't come any closer, Yuri. You shouldn't be here. I've already become a pillar. It's over. If I stay here, I can save you. So please, run away.'
Yuri lunges forward, wrapping her arms tightly around Hisoka.
Yuri: 'No. I won't let you.'
Yuri recites the exact words Hisoka used to save her all those years ago.
'You might die alone eventually, but you aren't alone right now. Even if it's only the time spent with me, please stay here for now. Even if it's just for a moment.
Just hold on a little longer. If you still want to die after that, then I'll die with you.'
Yuri: 'Do you remember what happened back then? That promise... so... please hold on a little longer.'
Yuri pulls Hisoka out of the casket.
Suddenly, Hisoka morphs into a hostile spirit: Hisoka Kurosawa, and charges forward to attack!
After defeating the hostile spirit Hisoka Kurosawa, Yuri approaches to perform a Fatal Glance.
Hisoka had felt immense guilt for failing to save Akari Narumi in the past. When she reported her death to the client:
Client: 'Is that so... that child... well, I suppose it's fine. How should I put it? Just knowing she's dead brings a sense of relief. Continuing a endless search means continuing a endless wait... so no matter how grim the truth is, I'm glad I heard it. Thank you.'
Yuri: 'I'm so glad I was able to bring you back, Hisoka.'
Hisoka: 'Thank you... and I'm sorry...'
Yuri: 'Let's go home together. I've been looking for you for so long.'
Escorting Hisoka back to the small boat at the entrance, they depart Mt. Hikami and return to the antique cafe...
Location: Antique Cafe Kurosawa
Hisoka sips the coffee brewed by Yuri: 'It's so warm.'
