“If no one remembers, does it mean it never existed?”
Following Misaki and Madoka, another girl has set foot on the forgotten Rogetsu Island.
Ruka Minazuki—one of the survivors of the spirited away (mass disappearance) incident ten years ago.
Although she was born on the island, she hastily left this place of sorrow with her mother, Sayaka, after the incident.
She has returned alone this time, seeking only one answer.
Ruka longs to retrieve the memories lost in the darkness:
About her birthplace, her blurry father, and what tragedy truly occurred on the island during the festival ten years ago.
Arriving on Rogetsu Island alone by boat, will Ruka find salvation, or an endless abyss?
Ruka setting foot on Rogetsu Island once again
1F: 101 Mutsuki - Entrance Hall
Ruka slowly steps into the entrance hall on the first floor of the abandoned Rougetsu Hall. The moment she pushes the door open, a residual memory from her childhood flashes through her mind: five little girls dressed in festival attire, once laughing carelessly here. Is this a true past, or an illusion created by her brain to protect itself?
Returning to the hall interwoven with memories
She tries to walk up the stairs to the second floor, only to find the iron gate firmly locked. In the cold gap of the door, she finds a familiar handwriting: Madoka's Note 1.
Forced to return to the first floor hall, a familiar silhouette suddenly flashes in the distance—it is Madoka, her companion who arrived on the island a step ahead of her. Watching her disappear toward the Aso Memorial Room, Ruka holds her breath and chases after her.
Chasing the disappearing figure
1F: Aso Memorial Room
Upon entering the room, an ancient-looking, imposing Camera Obscura comes into view—a special camera said to be able to photograph 'unseen things' and repel wraiths. In the glass cabinet on the left, Ruka obtains the shocking newspaper record of the past, "Mysterious Islander Deaths"; while near the typewriter desk in the corner, another unsettling clue is scattered on the floor: Dr. Asou's Notes 2.
The supernatural camera left behind
On the floor of the right glass cabinet, Ruka picks up the crucial protective weapon, the Camera Obscura, along with Madoka's Note 2. At this moment, she suddenly realizes that in the dark archive room next to her, a pair of malicious eyes seem to be coldly peering at all this.
The voyeur in the dark
Trying to turn the doorknob of the archive room, she finds it sealed by a mysterious force. Ruka raises the newly acquired Camera Obscura, aims at the door, and presses the shutter. An unbelievable image appears on the photographic paper—a blurry clue about a certain Mask Ornament, hinting at the key to unlocking this door.
On the clipping board on the right wall in front of the archive room door, Ruka obtains an old file: Newspaper "Dr. Asou's Visit", which seems to record the footprints of the Camera Obscura's inventor.
1F: Corridor
Just after stepping out of the Aso Memorial Room, a chilling aura hits her face. A nurse, who should have been healing the sick, has now turned into a malicious Wraith Fuyuko Shiratsuki, blocking the way. After overcoming this resentment with the Camera Obscura, Ruka moves forward along the narrow corridor, aiming for the silent elevator hall in the distance.
The chill wandering in the corridor
1F: Elevator Hall
Arriving at the hall, the phantom of the Specter Fleeing Child flashes by, running in panic toward the dining room. The boy seems to be guiding Ruka in the dark; is this a mischievous prank, or an invitation to a deeper darkness?
1F: 102 Reigetsu - Dining Room
102 Reigetsu - Dining Room
Chasing the child's trail into the dining room, Ruka sees the Specter Man in the Kitchen immersed in the shadows. And by the octagonal table turning away from the counter, the Specter Nurse Who Forgot Her Key seems to be anxiously looking for an item lost during her life.
On the broken tabletop, Ruka obtains the key item to move forward, the Rougetsu Engraved Key, and a Guide. According to the hint on the guide, the mechanism to open the second-floor door is hidden in the storage under the grand staircase in the entrance hall, and the decoding rule is: the sum of the numbers on the dashboard must equal 13.
On the dusty piano in the corner, Ruka finds Madoka's Note 3.
Coming to the right door, she notices that the mask display frame on the wall matches the supernatural photo taken earlier in the Aso Memorial Room, but one of the masks is missing from its slot.
At this moment, the Specter Masked Child lets out an eerie laugh and escapes out the door—it turns out the missing mask is in his hands.
1F: Corridor
Going through the left door back to the corridor. In front of the window reflecting the pale moonlight at the corner, Ruka captures the lonely figure of the Specter Man Standing in the Courtyard. In the small wooden box by the window lies an old newspaper record: "Last Survivor Dead", revealing deep despair between the lines.
1F: 101 Mutsuki - Entrance Hall
Returning to the hall and walking up the stairs. Behind the iron gate at the top of the stairs, the Specter Child Standing Behind the Door silently watches Ruka, as if expecting her to unlock the dusty mechanism and head toward the deeper fears.
On the floor next to the reception desk, a faded Rougetsu Island Sightseeing Flyer is scattered, appearing particularly ironic in contrast to the current desolation.
1F: Storage Room Under Stairs
Coming to the left side of the stairs, Ruka successfully opens the heavy lock using the Rougetsu Engraved Key and enters the dark, narrow storage room under the stairs. On the floor, she picks up a newspaper record of the incident back then: "Mystery of the Disappearance".
The switch control panel on the wall is full of rust from age. Five switches control the jumping numbers respectively. Based on the previous guide, Ruka makes a few attempts and adjusts the password combination to '45103', the sum of which is 13. Accompanied by a low, old mechanical operating sound, the iron gate on the second floor finally clicks open.
Unlocking the dusty gate
Walking slowly to the second floor, what comes into view is a group of Specters Patients Returning to Their Rooms staggering slowly into the shadows, as if time had stopped in the years this hospital was operating.
2F: Second Floor Ward Corridor
After taking only a few steps, a creeping rustling sound comes from behind, and the Specter Woman Coming to Greet quietly surfaces in the corridor. While passing the second corner, Ruka picks up Madoka's Note 4 from the ground.
Not far away, the Specter Child Disappearing into the Room flashes again, guiding the way. Ruka has no retreat and can only muster the courage to push open the ward door marked '206 Kogetsu'.
2F: 206 Kogetsu
A dead silence permeates the ward. Next to the withered flower pot, the Cassette Tape: Interview Record - Himiko Kiriya and a broken Cassette Player are left on the sofa, recording the patient's ravings while alive.
The cold Kogetsu ward
The Boy's Diary 1 on the right desk reveals the truth Ruka has been pursuing all along: the stolen mask is hidden under the pitch-black bed.
Ruka bends down, attempting to investigate under the deep bed. At this moment, that chilling gaze strikes again. The boy who led the way before is huddled in the corner, suddenly letting out a miserable wail—he turns into an aggressive Wraith Kazuto Amaki and violently appears.
The startled lonely soul
After a hard-fought battle, Ruka dispels the boy's resentment with the Camera Obscura. She obtains the Boy's Diary 2 he left behind at the original spot and successfully digs out the Corroded Mask, which has a ferocious and mottled face, from deep under the bed.
The rusted mask
2F: Corridor
Leaving the ward with the mask, ready to head back to the dining room. Passing the end of the corridor, the ambient temperature drops sharply, and the Wraith Natsuki Shiono suddenly attacks. She lets out a sharp roar and lunges at Ruka, attempting to keep this living person in this dark corridor forever.
1F: 101 Mutsuki - Entrance Hall
After a narrow escape, Ruka returns to the hall and crosses the first-floor long corridor. Glancing out the window casually, she finds the Specter Man Pressed Against the Window staring blankly and fixedly at her inside, a bone-chilling sight.
1F: 102 Reigetsu - Dining Room
Finally back in the dining room, Ruka gently places the Corroded Mask, retrieved after many hardships, back into its empty slot on the wall. The moment all five masks are in place, a muffled unlocking sound comes from afar—the seal on the tightly closed archive room door in the Aso Memorial Room has finally been broken.
The ritual of returning the masks
1F: Archive Room
Ruka quickly rushes back to the Aso Memorial Room and pushes open the heavy wooden door of the archive. In the darkest corner, she finally finds the lost Madoka. However, the Madoka before her has long lost her life force, her soul completely devoured by the darkness on the island. Having turned into the Wraith Madoka Tsukimori, she lets out a mournful wail. Holding back her grief, Ruka has to raise the Camera Obscura in her hands to personally end her dear friend's suffering and obsession.
Finding the missing Madoka
A companion reduced to a wraith
After the battle, Ruka looks at the mirror in the room trembling, only to terrifyingly discover that her own face in the mirror has also begun to show twisted, horrific marks like 'Blossoming'...
Ruka wanders in this Rougetsu Hall where memories are sealed, eventually witnessing Madoka's mutation deep in the memorial room. Does that mirror reflecting the truth reveal that Ruka is also heading towards the same fate?
